This program is going to be directed towards children ages 6-8 based on their 2022 Little League age. The following information will provide a general outline of the anticipated schedule. This information is subject to change pending registration. The overall goal is to try to give the kids a useful mix of instructional skill training and game action. The cost for our program will be $55 (includes transaction fees). Our program will be open to all children ages 6-8 and not limited to Orwigsburg players only (if your child played T-Ball in 2022, they are invited and encouraged to join us this fall as long as they are of age). If your league is hosting their own fall baseball program, we encourage you to explore that opportunity.
Games/training sessions will start the Tuesday after Labor Day and will continue to the 2nd or 3rd week of October. After the first week, we will target Monday and Wednesdays as the standing dates for games/training sessions. We may have some weekend activities depending on registration, weather, and other factors, but right now the plan is to target Monday and Wednesdays for most of the activities.
Games will be played at Orwigsburg Memorial Field. If we have overwhelming interest, we will look at utilizing additional fields.
The players will receive a jersey and hat for the fall season.
We will follow similar rules as our regular season 8U interleague rules from 2022.
We will keep score and look to have a playoff/championship depending on the number of teams involved.
The goal is to play around 8-10 games for this age group.
We plan to have skills training sessions where we bring someone in from outside of the organization to work with the kids. We will plan on having a separate session for pitching, hitting, and fielding.
New for 2022 - it's highly encouraged that your child buys a baseball helmet with a facemask. It's not required for the fall season, but we are considering making it a requirement for next spring for this age group
Any 5-year-old or 9-year-old that is interested in joining us, must go through a safety evaluation.
